In the period between March and July 2022 a specially designed pre-feasibility study for an existing building was conducted: It assess the economic feasibility of a group of apartments collectively purchasing inverter heat pumps (HP) and photovoltaics (PVs) and acting as an energy community that shares electricity internally.
To inform households about environmentally friendly heating options, REPLACE partner SDEWES together with their Local Working Group of relevant stakeholders, identified potential houses within the KAGoP region that are using inefficient heating systems.
At the beginning of January, the REPLACE team from BiH had the opportunity to take part in the “Sustainability Fair” which was held in the popular CosmoHub. The sustainability fair was intended for the general public/end customers, who wanted to get acquainted with innovative technologies of sustainable development, their possibilities for application, but also accessibility for “ordinary” people.
In order to promote the REPLACE activity and raise public awareness regarding the transition to heating systems based on renewable energy sources, the ENOVA project team visited examples of best practices, i.e. 7 households that recognized the importance of switching from heating systems based on fossil fuels to heating systems based on renewable sources energy, mainly on pellet stove systems, and distinguished themselves by “opening the door” to all citizens who are interested in being informed about this type of replacement.
The REPLACE final conference will take place on 21 March. Among other things, the topics to be addressed were discussed at the REPLACE consortium meeting on 1.2.2023. The multiple-crises and key findings of the project on possibilities how to react to them locally to nevertheless facilitate the phase-out of oil and natural gas towards sustainable heating and cooling in Europe will be the focus of the REPLACE final conference. In addition, the barriers and challenges that exist, as well as possible supporting framework conditions when replacing old, conventional fossil fuel systems with renewable ones will be discussed. The event will take place in a hybrid format, with the possibility to participate on-site in Brussels, but also online.
You are invited as an actor interested in heating and cooling in the residential sector – researcher, representative of the industry, national energy agencies, green and consumer NGOs, policy makers, etc.
Take part to learn more about the latest developments in energy efficiency of heating and cooling products in the EU, Norway and UK, including the most efficient products and policy trends!
HACKS is present in 15 European countries, with national teams working in synergy. They will present the methods and tools they have used, and provide a selection of illustrations and impacts:
