The core activity of REPLACE is to implement heating and cooling replacement campaigns adjusted to local conditions. Key to success is the strong involvement of local working groups where intermediaries, in direct cooperation with policy makers and consumer organisations, play a central role:
Intermediaries like chimney sweepers, installers or energy advisors, have constant access to consumers as well as practical experience, and ensure common activities with maximum impact.
REPLACE supports intermediaries to help consumers make informed decisions.
With mature technology widely available, REPLACE provides – in local language:
- trainings, learning materials and Replacement Handbooks on efficient renewable heating and cooling systems, incl. planning guidance, business models and financing options,
- the calculation tool „REPLACE your Heating System“ and information materials that are adjusted to local conditions and can be branded e.g. by intermediaries,
- information on best practice examples allowing intermediaries to implement collective actions – like the joint purchase of pellets – and thereby to exploit economies of scale and strengthen businesses.
Overall, REPLACE enables intermediaries to become trusted and well-trained facilitators of renewable heating and cooling replacements – contributing to climate protection and creating innovative business models at the same time.
