REPLACE actions in Croatia – project partner REGEA informs on climate friendly heating, helps to receive subsidies and organized a study trip

In the City of Zagreb and in the border counties of Zagreb, Krapina-Zagorje County and Karlovac, REPLACE project partner REGEA has championed the changeover to climate friendly heating and cooling in many ways:

Renewable heating in Krapina-Zagorje – a study trip

The organisation has provided information, counseling and education on the use of renewable energy sources to children, youth, citizens, entrepreneurs, city and county employees administration. They helped 100 end consumers to receive subsidies for a climate-friendly heating system replacement and thus to buy heating systems, solar thermal systems and heat pumps. In the pilot city of Velika Gorica they spread information through a press conference, an information workshop and set up an information corner accessible to everybody interested in the topic.

REGEA also organized many local campaigns in the target regions, among others a particularly impressive one showing citizens the way with real life testimonies. A study trip to an exemplary household in Krapina-Zagorje was organized, where end users saw a 45kW log boiler installed in practice and talked to the owners of the system who shared their positive experiences. The heating system replacement generated massive energy savings, but also savings on the energy bills – a practical example that can inspire consumers to replicate and continue to replace inefficient heating systems in other regions as well.
