A training session entitled “Tackling Energy Poverty in Bosnia and Herzegovina – The First Step of Energy Transition” was held on Monday, March 20, 2023, at the Courtyard by Marriott Sarajevo Hotel, within the framework of the EUHorizon project REPLACE.
The training was attended by representatives from relevant ministries, local self-government units, heating system manufacturers and installers, as well as non-governmental organizations from the Sarajevo Canton.
The primary objective of the training was to enhance awareness about the issue of energy poverty in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The presentations covered several key topics, including energy poverty in the context of energy transition, the existing legal framework, indicators of energy poverty in BiH, and potential measures to alleviate this issue in the country.
After the presentations, participants engaged in a discussion about the challenges they face in their respective fields, as well as strategies and documents developed to address energy poverty in the Sarajevo Canton. The discussion was constructive, with all participants making noteworthy contributions, leading to an exchange of ideas and opinions.
The training session marked a crucial milestone in addressing the issue of energy poverty in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is hoped that this topic will remain a priority for all relevant stakeholders to ensure a healthier and better life for all citizens.
